Marty Chastain

Marty Chastain is an American engineer and robotics expert. He is the chief robotics engineer for NASA's Perseverance rover, which landed on Mars in 2021. Chastain has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has worked on several NASA missions, including the Mars Science Laboratory and the Curiosity rover. Chastain is a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and has received several awards for his work, including the NASA Exceptional Service Medal. He is also a popular speaker and has given talks at conferences and events around the world.
