About Mary
Mary Jo Kopechne was an American woman who was killed in the Chappaquiddick incident in 1969. She was a campaign worker for Senator Ted Kennedy and was a passenger in his car when it struck a ditch on Chappaquiddick Island. Kopechne died in the car, and Kennedy left the scene without reporting the incident until the next day.
