Mary Simon

Mary Simon is a Canadian politician and diplomat who has been the Governor General of Canada since 2021. She is the first Indigenous person to hold the position and the first person of Inuit descent to serve as Governor General. Simon has a long career in public service, having served as the Minister of Northern Affairs and the Minister of Indigenous Services. She is known for her commitment to Indigenous reconciliation and her efforts to promote Canadian unity. Simon is based in Ottawa, Canada.
