French cyclist and winner of the first Tour de France
Maurice-François Garin was a French cyclist who won the first Tour de France in 1903. He was a member of the French cycling team and was known for his aggressive riding style. Garin was also a skilled mechanic and was involved in the development of the first modern bicycles. He is remembered as one of the greatest cyclists of all time and was inducted into the Cycling Hall of Fame in 1955. Garin passed away in 1956 at the age of 71.
