Mayor John Mamdani

John Mamdani is an American politician who has served as the Mayor of Somerville, Massachusetts since 2018. Before becoming mayor, Mamdani served on the Somerville City Council from 2014 to 2018. He has been a vocal advocate for progressive policies and has been a strong supporter of social justice causes. Mamdani has also been involved in local business development and has worked to promote economic growth in Somerville. He graduated from Harvard University and began his career in politics as a community organizer. Mamdani is married to his wife, and they have two children together.
