About Mazlum
Mazlum Kobane is a Kurdish politician and military leader who has been a key figure in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). He has played a leading role in the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria and has been a vocal advocate for Kurdish autonomy. Kobane was born in 1975 in the village of Kobane, Syria, and has a degree in economics from the University of Damascus. He has been a member of the SDF since its founding and has served as its leader since 2012.
