Melanie Lombard

Dr. Melanie Lombard is a professor of urban studies and geography at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. She has conducted extensive research on urban poverty, inequality, and social justice in South Africa and other parts of the world. Lombard has published numerous papers and books on these topics and has worked with various organizations to develop policies and programs to address urban poverty and inequality. She is also a strong advocate for community-led initiatives and has worked closely with community groups to develop and implement projects that address the needs of low-income communities. Lombard has received several awards for her work, including the prestigious South African Human Sciences Research Council Award for her contributions to the field of urban studies.
