Mendes-Flohr, Zecharias

Zecharias Mendes-Flohr is a professor of Jewish studies and history at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a leading expert on Jewish history, culture, and philosophy. Mendes-Flohr has written extensively on topics such as Jewish identity, Zionism, and the intersection of Jewish and modern thought. He is also a prominent public intellectual and has been a vocal advocate for Jewish rights and social justice. Mendes-Flohr has received numerous awards for his scholarship and teaching, including the National Jewish Book Award. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the American Historical Association. Mendes-Flohr has also served as a visiting professor at several universities around the world, including Harvard, Yale, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is currently the director of the Center for Jewish Studies at UC Berkeley.
