Merjane Satrapi is an Iranian-French cartoonist, author, and illustrator. She was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to France with her family at a young age. Satrapi is best known for her graphic novels, including "Persepolis", which won the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction in 2004. She has also worked as a cartoonist for various publications, including The New Yorker and Le Monde.
