Michael Barnier is a French politician who served as the Minister of Justice from 2012 to 2016 and as the European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services from 2014 to 2019. He is a member of the European People's Party and has been a prominent figure in French politics. Born on March 20, 1961, in Paris, France, Barnier has been involved in various political parties throughout his career, including the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) and the European People's Party (EPP).
