BBC correspondent and screenwriter
Michael Elkins was a British journalist and screenwriter, best known for his work as a correspondent for the BBC in Jerusalem. He was born in 1924 in New York City, USA, and grew up in a Jewish family. Elkins served in the US Army during World War II and later moved to Hollywood, where he worked as a screenwriter. He was also involved in the establishment of the State of Israel and played an active role in the country's early years. Elkins passed away in 2001. He was a prolific writer and published several books on his experiences in Israel and the Middle East.
