Michael Hsu is an American politician and economist. He served as the Mayor of San Francisco from 2020 to 2024. Prior to his mayoralty, Hsu was the President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He has also served as a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Hsu is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago. He has written extensively on economic policy and has been a vocal advocate for progressive economic policies.
