Michael O'Dwyer was a British colonial administrator who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab from 1919 to 1921. He played a significant role in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. O'Dwyer was born in 1864 in County Cork, Ireland. He studied at Trinity College in Dublin and later at the Royal Military College at Sandhurst. He served in the British Army during the Second Boer War and later became a colonial administrator in India. O'Dwyer was known for his conservative views and his role in suppressing the Indian independence movement. He died in 1944 in London, England.
