World Chess Champion and Grandmaster
Mikhail Tal was a Soviet chess grandmaster and the 6th World Chess Champion. Born in Riga, Latvia, in 1936, Tal became a chess prodigy at a young age and went on to win numerous international tournaments. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest attacking players in chess history. Tal's aggressive playing style and creative combinations have been studied by chess players around the world. He was also a talented writer and published several books on chess. Tal passed away in 1992, but his legacy continues to inspire chess players of all levels.
