Iraqi Shia cleric and politician
Mohammed Baqir al-Sadr was an Iraqi Shia cleric and politician who played a key role in the Iranian Revolution. He was born in 1935 in Najaf, Iraq, and died in 1980 in Najaf, Iraq. Al-Sadr was a prominent figure in the Iraqi Shia community and was known for his writings on Islamic law and politics. He was a key advisor to Ayatollah Khomeini and was involved in the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
