Mona Fawaz

Mona Fawaz is a Lebanese scholar and director of the Beirut Urban Lab. She is a professor of political science and international relations at the American University of Beirut. Fawaz has written extensively on the intersection of politics, culture, and urbanism in the Middle East. She is a prominent voice on issues related to urban governance, conflict, and social justice. Fawaz has received numerous awards for her work, including the prestigious Prince Claus Award. She is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
