Mongi G. Bawendi is an American chemist and professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is known for his work on quantum dots and nanocrystals. Bawendi received his PhD from Harvard University and has published numerous papers on his research. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Bawendi has also received several awards for his contributions to science, including the National Medal of Science.
