Founder of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart
Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini was an Italian-American nun and missionary who dedicated her life to serving the poor and marginalized. Born in 1850 in Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, Italy, she joined the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart at the age of 24. She worked tirelessly in Italy and later in the United States, establishing schools and hospitals for Italian immigrants. She was canonized as a saint in 1946 and is revered for her compassion and selflessness. Throughout her life, Mother Cabrini received numerous awards and accolades for her work, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
