Iraqi politician and Kurdish leader
Mulla Mustafa Barzani was an Iraqi politician and Kurdish leader. He played a key role in the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and served as its president from 1973 until his death in 2021. Born in 1922 in Sulaimaniyah, Iraq, he studied law at the University of Baghdad. He was known for his leadership during the Kurdish rebellion against Saddam Hussein's regime.
