Australian-born French Resistance agent
Nancy Wake was an Australian-born French Resistance agent during World War II. She was known as the 'White Mouse' for her ability to evade capture and was a key figure in the French Resistance. Wake was born in Sydney, Australia and moved to France in the 1930s. She joined the Resistance and became involved in various espionage activities. Wake was awarded the Croix de Guerre and the Médaille de la Résistance for her bravery.
