Naoki Shotoku was a Japanese politician and historian who served as the 50th Prime Minister of Japan from 1884 to 1888. He is best known for his role in drafting the Meiji Constitution, which established Japan as a constitutional monarchy. Shotoku was born in 1859 in Japan and died in 1931. He is considered one of the most important figures in Japanese history.
