Philosopher and spiritual leader
Narendranath Datta, also known as Swami Vivekananda, was a philosopher and spiritual leader who was born in Kolkata, India in 1863. He was a key figure in the Indian Renaissance and was instrumental in popularizing Hinduism and Vedanta philosophy in the West. Vivekananda was a strong advocate for Indian independence and was a key figure in the Indian independence movement. He was also a skilled orator and writer, and was known for his charismatic personality and his ability to inspire others. Vivekananda traveled extensively throughout his life, including a famous trip to the United States in 1893, where he delivered a series of lectures on Hinduism and Vedanta philosophy.
