Natalie Clifford Barney was an American literary critic and scholar. She was known for her work on Slavic literature and folklore. Barney was a prominent figure in the Parisian literary circle and was friends with many notable writers, including James Joyce and Ezra Pound. She was also a skilled translator and published several books on Slavic mythology. Barney was born in 1876 and died in 1972.
