Russian novelist and playwright
Nikolai Gogol was a Russian novelist and playwright who is best known for his works such as "Dead Souls" and "The Overcoat". He is considered one of the greatest writers in Russian literature and has had a significant influence on the development of Russian literature. Gogol was born in Ukraine and studied law at the University of Kharkov. He later moved to St. Petersburg and became a writer, producing works that were both humorous and satirical. Gogol died at the age of 37 due to complications from tuberculosis.
