Nizami Ganjavi

Nizami Ganjavi was a Persian poet, jurist, and historian who lived in the 12th century. He is considered one of the greatest poets of the Persian language and is known for his works in the genres of ghazal, masnavi, and rubai. Ganjavi was born in Ganja, Azerbaijan, and spent much of his life in Baghdad, where he became a prominent figure in the literary and intellectual circles of the time. He is best known for his epic poem, 'Khusru and Shirin', which tells the story of the legendary love affair between the Persian king Khusru and the Turkish princess Shirin.
