NYC Police Commissioner

The current Police Commissioner of New York City is Keechant Sewell. She is the first woman to hold the position and has been serving since 2021. Sewell has a background in law enforcement, having worked her way up the ranks from patrol officer to deputy chief. She has been a vocal advocate for police reform and community policing. Sewell is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
