Ukrainian filmmaker and human rights activist
Oleg Sentsov is a Ukrainian filmmaker, actor, and human rights activist. He was born on April 12, 1976, in Kiev, Ukraine. Sentsov is best known for his documentary films, including "Stalin's Mass Graves" and "The Gate of Tears". He has received several awards for his work, including the European Film Award for Best Documentary. Sentsov has been a vocal critic of Russian aggression in Ukraine and has been imprisoned several times for his activism. He was released from prison in 2014 after serving a three-year sentence. Sentsov has also been a vocal advocate for the rights of Ukrainian refugees and has worked with various organizations to provide support to those affected by the conflict. He currently resides in Ukraine.
