Book of Mormon witness and co-founder of the Mormon movement
Oliver Cowdery was a key figure in the early history of the Latter Day Saint movement. He was a close friend and associate of Joseph Smith and played a significant role in the translation of the Book of Mormon. Cowdery was also a visionary and experienced several sacred experiences with Heavenly Messengers. He was one of the three witnesses to the Book of Mormon's golden plates and was later excommunicated from the Church. Cowdery went on to become a prominent figure in the Methodist Episcopal Church and wrote extensively on his experiences. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of Mormonism.
