Osiris González Romero is a philosopher and Postdoctoral researcher on cognitive freedom and psychedelic humanities at the University of Saskatchewan. He is currently studying more than 100 documents to establish an honest understanding of why peyote was ever banned. Romero is focused on highlighting different cultural uses of psychedelics to better inform future drug policy. He is also an expert on Mesoamerican psychedelics and their relevance to cognitive liberty and decolonization. Romero has a strong background in philosophy and has published several papers on the topic of psychedelic humanities. He is also an advocate for the decriminalization of psychedelics and has spoken at several conferences on the topic. Romero is currently based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
