Irish revolutionary and poet
Padraig Pearse was an Irish revolutionary, poet, and teacher. He is best known for his role in the Easter Rising of 1916, where he served as a commander of the Irish Republican Army. Pearse was a key figure in the Irish independence movement and was executed by firing squad for his involvement in the rising. He was also a talented poet and writer, and his works are still widely read and studied today. Pearse was born in Dublin, Ireland, and attended Belvedere College before studying at University College Dublin.
