Padre Jorge Mario Bergoglio

Padre Jorge Mario Bergoglio is a former Archbishop of Buenos Aires and the current Pope. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and studied theology at the University of San Miguel. Bergoglio was ordained as a priest in 1969 and served as a bishop in Argentina before becoming Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 1998. He was known for his progressive views on social justice and his efforts to reform the Church. Bergoglio was elected Pope in 2013 and has been a vocal advocate for the poor and marginalized. He is based in the Vatican City.
