Patriarch Bartolomeo Luigi Cardinal Karmelij Pizzardo

Patriarch Pizzardo is the head of the Greek Orthodox Church and has been a prominent figure in the Orthodox Church for over 40 years. He was born in Rome, Italy, and became Patriarch in 2006. Pizzardo is known for his strong stance on Orthodox doctrine and his efforts to promote unity among Orthodox churches. He is a graduate of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and has a degree in theology. He is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
