Patrick McCarthy

Patrick McCarthy is an American astronomer and the project leader of the Giant Magellan Telescope. He received his PhD in astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley. McCarthy has worked at the University of Arizona and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. McCarthy has published numerous papers on astronomy and has received several awards for his work. He is known for his expertise in telescope design and construction.
