Patty Hearst is a media heiress and activist who was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) in 1974. She was held captive for 19 months and eventually joined the SLA, participating in bank robberies and other crimes. Hearst was later convicted of bank robbery and served 22 months in prison. She has since become an advocate for social justice and has written several books about her experiences. Hearst is the granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst and has been involved in various philanthropic efforts throughout her life.
