Paul Avrich was an American historian and anarchist scholar. He was born in 1925 in New York City and died in 2006. Avrich was a prominent figure in the anarchist movement and wrote extensively on the subject. He was also a professor at Brooklyn College and taught courses on anarchist history and theory.
