Peter George was a British author and screenwriter. He is best known for his novel Red Alert, which was adapted into the film Dr. Strangelove. George was born in 1923 in England and grew up during World War II. He served in the British Army during the war and later worked as a journalist and screenwriter. George's work often explored themes of politics and social commentary. He was a prolific writer and published several novels and short stories. George passed away in 2004 at the age of 81.
