Clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst
Peter Geza Fonagy is a Hungarian-British clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. He is a professor of clinical psychology at University College London and a consultant clinical psychologist at the Tavistock Clinic. Fonagy is known for his work on attachment theory and mentalization-based therapy. He has written extensively on these topics and has developed several therapeutic approaches, including mentalization-based treatment of borderline personality disorder. Fonagy has received numerous awards for his contributions to psychology, including the American Psychological Association's Distinguished Scientific Award for the Application of Psychology to Public Interest. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a member of the British Psychological Society.
