Philip Hammond is a British politician who served as the Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2016 to 2019. He was a member of the Conservative Party and served in various roles, including as a Member of Parliament and as the Secretary of State for Transport. Hammond was appointed Chancellor by Prime Minister Theresa May and played a key role in shaping the UK's economic policy. He resigned as Chancellor in 2019, following a leadership challenge by Boris Johnson.
