Early Christian evangelist and leader
Philip the Evangelist is a figure in the New Testament of the Bible. He is mentioned in Acts 8 as a leader in the early Christian church who took the gospel to Samaria. He is also mentioned in Acts 21 as being present in Jerusalem during the apostle Paul's third missionary journey. Philip is often overlooked in historical accounts of the early Christian church, but he played an important role in the spread of Christianity in the 1st century. He is also notable for his interactions with Simon the Magician, a fraud and swindler who was later baptized and became a Christian.
