King of France
Philippe Auguste was the King of France from 1180 to 1223. He was the son of King Louis VII and Queen Adela of Champagne. Auguste was a member of the Capetian dynasty and played a significant role in the politics of medieval France. He was known for his military campaigns and his efforts to improve the infrastructure of Paris. Auguste died in 1223, but his legacy lived on through his son, Louis VIII.
