Legendary basketball coach and administrator
Phog Allen was a renowned American basketball coach and administrator. He is best known for his 42-year tenure as the head coach of the University of Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team. Allen won three NCAA championships and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959. He is also known for his work as a sports writer and his contributions to the development of the game of basketball. Born in 1885 in Mound City, Kansas, Allen was a pioneer in the sport and left a lasting legacy. He passed away in 1957 at the age of 71.
