Former Pope and patron of the arts
Pope Sixtus V was a Pope of the Catholic Church from 1590 to 1591. He was a member of the Ursuline Order and was known for his piety and his support of the arts. Pope Sixtus V commissioned the construction of the Felice Aqueduct and the fountain in Piazza San Bernardo. He is remembered as a patron of the arts and a defender of the Catholic Church.
