Preston Tucker was an American inventor and entrepreneur who is best known for designing the Tucker '48, a pioneering American automobile. Born in 1903, Tucker was a self-taught engineer and entrepreneur who founded the Tucker Corporation in the 1940s. He is credited with developing the first all-steel body car, which was a major innovation in automotive design. Tucker's life and work have been the subject of numerous books, films, and documentaries.
