Founder of Chabad Chassidus
Rabbi Sholom Ber Schneur Zalman of Liadi was a 18th-century Hasidic Rebbe and one of the most influential Jewish thinkers of all time. He was born in 1745 in Medzhybizh, Ukraine, and died in 1812. He is best known for his writings on the Tanya, a foundational text of Chabad Chassidus, and for his teachings on the nature of the divine and the human soul.
