Founder of Hasidic Judaism
Rabbi Yisrael Baal Shem Tov was a 18th-century Jewish mystic and founder of Hasidic Judaism. He is considered one of the most influential Jewish thinkers of the modern era. Born in 1698 in Medzhybizh, Ukraine, he was a prominent figure in the Jewish community and a leading authority on Jewish mysticism. He is best known for his teachings on the importance of love, compassion, and joy in Jewish practice. His legacy continues to inspire Jews around the world. He died in 1760 in Mezhirich, Ukraine.
