Raymond of Penyafort

Raymond of Penyafort was a Dominican friar and theologian who lived in the 13th century. He is best known for his work on canon law and his role as a confessor to several popes. Penyafort was born in Barcelona, Spain and studied at the University of Toulouse. He later became a member of the Dominican Order and spent many years teaching and writing on theology and law.
