Afghan refugee and asylum seeker
Rezwana Sekandari is an Afghan refugee who was granted asylum in Europe after fleeing her home country with her family. At the age of 13, Sekandari's family was separated during their journey to Europe, and she was left alone and adrift. She was eventually reunited with her family in a refugee camp and later granted asylum in Greece. Sekandari has since rebuilt her life in Sweden, where she has become an advocate for refugee rights and social justice. She is the subject of Mariangela Paone's book 'Rezwana: Un expediente europeo'.
