Richard Child was an American diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Italy from 1929 to 1933. He was a member of the Republican Party and was appointed by President Herbert Hoover. Child was a prominent figure in American politics during the 1920s and 1930s. He was known for his conservative views and his support for the Republican Party. Child was also a businessman and had interests in various industries, including banking and real estate. He was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was involved in various diplomatic efforts during his career. Child died in 1940.
