Robert Goddard was an American physicist and engineer who made significant contributions to the development of rocketry. He is widely recognized as the father of modern rocketry. Goddard was born in 1882 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He studied physics at Clark University and later worked as a physicist at the U.S. Naval Observatory. Goddard's most notable achievement was the development of the first liquid-fueled rocket, which he launched in 1926. He continued to work on rocketry throughout his life and made several other significant contributions to the field. Goddard died in 1945 at the age of 62. He is remembered as a pioneer in the field of rocketry and his work paved the way for the development of modern space exploration.
