Robert S. Mueller III is an American lawyer and former FBI Director. He served as the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2013 to 2017, and was appointed by President Barack Obama to lead the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Mueller is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Virginia Law School, and has served as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
